“Not like everyone else”? Transnational families’ relationship in their home society – between stigma and dialogue

The study discusses whether and how Ukrainian Moldovan migrant parents, some of whom had to leave their children behind in the care other adults, are faced with a disapproving public discourse while also facing strong pressure both relationship authorities at level society, community, family. Through this approach, we aim answer following question: Are Moldavian transnational family members subjected process stigmatization society immediate social environment? In view, develop qualitative inquiry based on in-depth interviews respondents from Ukraine Republic Moldova. Our main research objective is examine attitudes encountered by families relations representatives authorities, as well close environment, Specific topics explored, such reasons for migration, trust local migrants’ host country’s state towards most important key stakeholders involved migration process, support measures proposed migrants families. findings concerning attitudes, trust, proposals suggest presence certain degree parents underlines need transfer good practices real-life experiences, those migrants, not remain an empty imitation.
